The industrial sector has significant participation in Brazil’s GDP.  Even with the health crisis, from 2019 to 2020 industry accounted for a striking 20.4% of GDP and Santa Catarina has one of the most important industrial parks in Brazil. According to the Federation of Industry of Santa Catarina (FIESC), Santa Catarina is the state with the fourth-highest number of manufacturing companies.
